Assertive Community Treament (ACT)

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) program through contract with Fresno County to provide intensive mental health services to youth 10-18 years of age with severe mental health/substance abuse issues. These youth are at risk for greater hospitalization or homelessness and may be experiencing their first onset of a serious mental health condition. Others may have been in traditional mental health treatment services but now require a more extensive program.

ACT is a service-delivery model for providing comprehensive community-based treatment to youth with severe and persistent mental health needs. A multidimensional team of professionals consisting of case manager, clinician, psychiatric team, education psychologists, and service providers all team up to surround these youth with services needed to help them overcome the obstacles in their lives so they can flourish.

ACT services are characterized by low staff-to-client ratios, 24-hour/7-day per week availability, family centered, individualized treatment planning and implementation, and  a multidisciplinary team of professionals working in community settings. ACT team members meet daily to plan interventions and equip youth and families to overcome challenges in their lives.

I was convinced that this was the family I was to be a part of. They have provided me the security and comfort that I have been seeking for a very long time. I am proud to be their daughter and sister.
